“A collection of heartfelt words from people who have welcomed my artworks into their homes and lives.”
One day last December, while walking through the streets of Jerusalem, we stumbled upon a truly unique and beautiful art gallery. We are drawn to artwork that reflects Jewish strength and resilience, and we love filling our home with pieces that celebrate our heritage.
We met the owner and artist, Yossi Shua, and were immediately captivated by his extraordinary talent. Yossi doesn’t simply create art, he tells stories through it.
After our visit, Yossi and I stayed in touch and spent many hours discussing how we could create a one-of-a-kind piece that would spark meaningful conversations about the beauty of Israel, the endurance of the Jewish people, and the generations who came before us.
This 3-dimensional artwork captures the entire Jewish story in a single image, from the unimaginable darkness of the Holocaust to the triumph, joy, and security represented by the existence of the State of Israel and the soldiers who defend it.
The Holocaust survivor is elderly, with a tattooed number still visible on his arm. Yet his face radiates joy, optimism, and victory. The soldier’s expression reflects strength, resilience, and the confidence that comes from protecting his people.
The background is the vibrant city of Tel Aviv, centered around Yaacov Agam’s iconic sculpture in Dizengoff Square. Yossi intentionally chose Tel Aviv because it is a city full of energy, life, and hope, a place that never stops moving forward.
I could not be more proud of how exquisitely this piece came together. Israel brings my family and me immeasurable joy and fills my soul every time my feet touch its soil.
We are living through uncertain times, and I find strength every time I look at this artwork. It reminds me of who we are and what we have overcome.
Our people have been tested beyond measure, from the horrors of the Holocaust to the atrocities of October 7, and everything in between. Yet we are still here.
Real messages sent to Yossi after the artwork arrived. Each one can be opened exactly as it was received.
“Shavuah tov! Thank you so much for the amazing artwork and for hanging it erev Shabbat. It meant so much to us to have your work — we looked at it all afternoon and are just amazed by each piece. Your work brings us all so much joy. Thank you again.”
