The Yossi Shua website was built to be accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. This page sets out what has actually been done, what has not been done yet, and how to reach us if anything is difficult to use.
Level of accessibility
The site has been adapted to Israel’s Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013, and to Israeli Standard 5568, which is based on the WCAG 2.1 guidelines at level AA. Every page was tested on desktop and on mobile with the automated tool axe-core against the WCAG 2.1 level A and AA rules, and no failures were found.
The accessibility menu
In the bottom-left corner of every page there is an accessibility button. It opens a menu in which you can adjust the display to your needs, and your settings are kept in your browser for the next visit:
- larger text, a readable font, font weight, line height and letter spacing;
- text alignment;
- light contrast, high contrast and grayscale;
- highlighting of links, of headings and of everything clickable;
- a reading line and a reading mask;
- a large cursor, hiding images and stopping animations;
- highlighted keyboard navigation and skip to content.
What else has been done
- Every page has a clear main heading and an orderly heading structure.
- Text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background.
- The site can be used with a keyboard, including the menu, the search, the artwork viewer and the forms.
- Photographs of the artworks carry alternative text with the name of the work.
- Buttons with no visible text carry a label for screen readers, and every form field has a label.
- The site declares its language (English, left to right) so that screen readers read it correctly.
- The site adapts to phones, tablets and wide screens.
What has not been completed yet
- No full manual audit by an external accessibility consultant has been carried out. Automated testing does not cover every requirement of the standard, so some parts may not be fully accessible.
- The studio film is shown without captions.
- The collectors’ messages are shown as screenshots; the text of each one is also written out beside it.
- The cookie banner comes from an external provider, and our control over its accessibility is limited.
